There are few flaws, at 6:50 there is a blue eyed dog. Akita Inu is brown eyed only. Also American Akita and Akita Inu are two different breeds. They have common ancestor. The American Akita swayed way away form Akita Inu breed particulars. American Akita is also nice but it is like cross breed between Honda and Cadillac and still called Honda.... American Akita is internationally classified as different dog breed from Akita Inu.

I would just go for a Retriever and call it a day but I want a dog to serve as a companion for my mom as well, but she has emphatically stated that the only dog she would ever have would be an Akita; I mean, I basically love any dog no matter the breed but I have known for years that the Akita is a difficult dog so I don't know what to do about it :(

Wow amazing. 7:14 That is almost an exact clone of my dig Ellie. The Coloring, the electric blue Husky identical. I'd be very surprised if the dog shown there is a pure breed Akita. Ellie is a mixed breed of a pure breed Husky mixed with a pure breed boxer and a pure breed Akita Mix. Even though the Akita in her is only 25% we've always thought it was the most dominant in temperament and also looks, accept for the Blue husky eyes of course. Thought she was unique, but everyone and everything has got a doppelganger I suppose!

Oh noo, good video my dude but there’s some things that could use correcting (and yeah I read the opening disclaimer).
-Akita-ken refers to the prefecture of Akita, not the dog.
-Odate (pronounced “Oh-da-te, ” not oh-date) is definitely not the capital of Akita prefecture, Odate (or Odate-shi) is a city (not at area) and only a fraction of the actual capital’s population. The capital of Akita-ken is Akita city (or Akita-shi).
-Akita Inu is represented by Odate because it’s the hometown of the nationally famous Hachiko, in which afterwards Prof. Ueno moved to Tokyo (inspired the movie Hachi with Richard Gere). Though you covered it, it’s also something worth noting since you mentioned Odate-Shi.

The Akita Inu is everything that a Shiba Inu isn't. Akita Inu looks like a complete version of Shiba Inu. Heck, even Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, has an Akita Inu
