Hardeep Singh Nijjar Murder: America provided evidence against India to Canada

During a press briefing, the United States once again expressed deep concern over Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations regarding India's potential involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani terrorist. Matthew Miller, the Department of State spokesperson, stressed the importance of Canada's ongoing investigation and the need to bring the responsible parties to justice. He underlined, "We believe it's crucial that Canada's investigation continues, and we have urged the Indian Government to cooperate publicly and privately."

In relation to the India-Canada dispute, Miller stated, "We are deeply concerned by the allegations made by Prime Minister Trudeau, and we maintain close contact with our Canadian partners." Tensions have risen following Trudeau's claims, which India has dismissed as baseless and motivated. Hardeep Singh Nijjar, designated as a terrorist in India, was killed in Surrey, Canada, on June 18.

U.S. Representative Jim Costa also called for a comprehensive investigation into Nijjar's killing, expressing his concern on social media and requesting an official briefing as a member of the House Foreign Affairs committee, stressing the importance of determining accountability for the crime.

Previously, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken had expressed his deep concern about Trudeau's allegations and their potential impact on the U.S.-Canada relationship.
