Tesla Style (Radio) Pros & Cons 2024

Make sure your sleep mode is turned ON so it wont take so long to boot up

I installed my 12.1 radio for my 2012 ram and it works perfectly! Most issues can be resolved by going through the settings. Only hiccup i had was my reverse camera was black and white and i found a setting where i had to change the video stream format. I went with the highest specs and it does not lag nor freeze.

15-30 min to turn on when cold. What a POS. I live with weather that is below 60 5 months out of the year. This would SUCK. Glad I saw your video. Thanks for saving me a major headache.

Damn. I can overlook things like not being able to customize buttons, but that ambient temperature lag I can’t/won’t deal with. I live in Florida so the fact that it lags when it’s hot would drive me crazy because it’s something I’d have to deal with daily.

Does anyone know if they have improved the boot up time in low temps? Curious to know before buying. Is it because the tablet itself is cold? Is there a mod that can fix this issue? Plan on traveling a lot and expect to be in cold weather conditions on occasion can't imagine waiting 15 min for it to be ready. Will the model with more ram and rom boot faster?

I have this. It takes 15-30 SECONDS when it’s cold out so it’s not rlly a big deal guys.

15 to 30 "MINUTES"...? Did you mean seconds? Surely it doesn't take a half hour to start when below 60F, that's not even cold. Can you please clarify?

I have the same unit and had to do a factory reset. After that I lost the automatic back up cam when in reverse, (only works if I manually touch the physical button), lost the light functions in the right and left side physical buttons and I also no longer show the actual temp numbers or the meter level for the fan speeds for my AC. Anyone know of the proper selections in the menus to fix these. I have text phoenix but they take forever to answer. Thanks 2017 Tundra XSP

Are you getting full screen Android Auto? I see you got full screen with Carplay, but with my S24 Ultra, the Android Auto is not full screen, only half of the screen :(

I just received my 12" vertical screen and dash bezel from Phoenix Automotive for my 2011 Silverado today. I got the one with 8gb RAM so if there is lag at any time I would be a disappointed. The issue with the screen being unresponsive for 30 min (if I understood you correctly) would be a deal breaker for me. I hope to install mine this weekend. I guess I will see how mine works. Thanks for the video though.
