i have a 1986 yz 125 i just restored and it destroys new two stroke 125s i love the white and red yamaha it looks dope my friends can’t even stay close to me on his cr 125 and his is pretty new and he’s been riding longer than me

Great info, never tested my yz125s top speed, should be lower than yours as I got a 50T rear sprocket.

You could simply change the front or back sprocket and go 80mph if you want...once my buddy spent $4500 on his engine and beat me in a race, so I simply installed a $30 sprocket and ate his lunch...lol

I wouldn't wear shorts and a t shirt while doing 70 on the street. If you wrecked you would be uuupp. Your bike would be messed up too probably. At least wear jeans and a long sleeve tee next time you do that

I love how everyone says "blah blah year/bike went faster" Its all in the gearing, type of bike/engine size has very little to do with it. You can make a 85 go 80mph on a road, but no one gives a shit. 70 is very respectable for a 125 that isn't gear for pointless top speed. FYI, my old cr250 only did about 60-65 MPH, sense it was geared for technical woods riding.
