Getting Rid of Weeds in your Bermuda Grass for Beginners

This is a video geared towards people who don't know where to start in getting the weeds in their Bermuda Grass under control. This will cover 2 options you can find at your nearest big box store. While there are other options out there, this will get you headed in the right direction!

Sir, it’s spring in north Texas, can I mix both herbicides together in the sprayer rather than spraying separately? Also, when would it be ideal to lay fertilizer? Same day? Wait a few? Thanks for the videos!

I went out on vacation and upon my return my bermuda grass yard was 50% infected with weeds of all kinds, so this video is great, because it shows me a game plan on how to combat and hopefully get rid of all this weed I got on my grass. I've pulled most of it off today but will still buy and use the products recommended on the remaining spots.

I have ordered some 24d. Do I need to put down some grass seed in the clover patches? Or will the Bermuda grow once the clover is dead?

My lawn is fairly new, put down in October, and has been dormant pretty much since. Are these products ok for this situation?

Thank you for sharing this information. I purchased a home last year, then had it leveled Spring 2025. Now I have soft spots (wet & dry); will I need to tamp down the lawn before I apply this mixture?

I use Image on mine and I’ve had mixed results this year. My zoysia and Bermuda do ok with it but I’ve got some sticker weeds and various johnson grass areas I can’t seem to get cleaned up.

Thank you for the video - very helpful. Sorry for a stupid question but, I do not know much about lawn care however, I do want to improved my yard. I have bermuda and also I have a large variety of weeds (broadleaf and grassy weeds). My question: will using both of those products together be harmful to the several animals in my yard? If so, then are there alternatives that will be safer? (tia)

I just got Celsius and centipede. My Bermuda is now over run by some type of carpet grass look alike. Will Celsius and certainly work on this? Should I keep it at 1.5inch tall as my yard is on a hill, I can’t drop down any lower without scalping.

Hey Lawn Dad! My newly sodded Bermuda /weed lawn is only about 4 months old here in North Texas. I am thinking it does not even have an established root system yet. Should I just keep it mowed using a bagged mower or is there anything else I can do without hurting my new sod?

This is all good information. Thankfully, many broadleaf and some grassy weeds like poa annua only thrive in the cool season and will not be an issue when the Bermuda is really greening up and growing in the summer heat. It’s always better to get it all under control, though.
I’m constantly doing battle with kyllinga and sedge during the summer. Image helps.

My 2;4 D application as instructed 1 tsp per 2 gallons killed the clover yea but did not touch the spurge. What gives?
