The writing here is phenomenal, the tiniest of details and subtle implications. The fact that deep down you can see Estella wanted her mother to not push her. The fact that Estella was pushed off and died for good that night. Or even the fact that Horrice is crying at her grave, and even tho Jasper tries to console him, Horrice knows their friend Estella is gone. Maybe if Estella's mother had just hugged her instead of pushing her, the story would have ended This movie is incredible metaphor for life, the twists and turns, the what ifs, the denial, the acceptance. Some of us make it thru ok, others, aren't so lucky...

The way I see it, while Estella/Cruella expected the Baroness to push her off, she nevertheless gave her a last chance to make up for everything she did and reconcile with her daughter, being ultimately reunited as a family. The Baroness made her definitive choice...and the bill came soon after. Like many other villains, it's been herself, not her nemesis, the ultimate cause of her demise.
