China’s Xi Jinping warns Taiwan in New Year message

Chinese President Xi Jinping has delivered his New Year's address to the nation, saying his country will be reunified with Taiwan.
Beijing considers the self-governing island to be part of its territory.

The elephant in the room: China's 5% GDP growth rate in 2023 is the same as 11% GDP growth rate in 2012, if you measure in absolute GDP amount. So China's slowing down is the contribution of 1) its absolute size is too large to have double digit growth rate 2) the global economy is sluggish in 2022 and 2023, both due to trade war and hot wars.

Further, China is moving up in the global supply chain. It can now produce 7nm computer chips AT SCALE. And China just pass Japan as the largest car exporter in the world, most of those cars are EV cars. China also pass South Korea as the world's biggest Large Scale Ship Builder. China continues moving further as the dominant force in green energy. All these indicates China is not just growing but growing in value sectors.
