Honestly, the main reason why Twisters and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice aren't bigger global hits is because the original Twister and Beetlejuice never left that big of an impact on audience outside of the US. Both of these IP's are extremely American and the rest of the world just couldn't be bothered.

Hollywoods doesn’t have to “go conservative”. They just have to go back to the middle and not have heavy handed messaging. DP3 and Inside Out 2, both Disney movies made a ton of money and I’m sure at least half of that money were from ‘conservative’ audiences.

Overall abysmal box office numbers make these smaller films look much more succesful than they really are. Rank 6 to 10 made $9.4 million combined. That's ridiculous.

Hollywood shouldn’t be thinking in terms of liberal or conservative. They just need to go back to making movies that appeal to everyone. The original Star Wars, Jaws, and Back to the Future are all classics. You want diversity? How about Beverly Hills Cop, Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon? They just told stories.

Grace, here in Germany movies aren’t advertised anymore. If you r not on social media there’s basically nothing that pushes u to the movies. We also don’t get all the merch, so it’s pretty easy to not notice a new movie (very different than back in the 90s or 2000s)

Beetlejuice was an iconic movie in USA during the original release time, like ghostbusters, or pretty woman, or movies like Ghost. They had a cultural impact that marked generations. So the nostalgic value has a lower impact in foreign audiences.
