Build Your Community

At Grinnell, you can find your own community — maybe more than one — that will support you and help you explore your identity and ideas, says Jordon Maurice Ryan ’24.

Ryan found his place and his sense of belonging on the men’s basketball team, as well as in Men of Color, a Black men’s student group at Grinnell. “It’s truly a brotherhood. We’re really connected,” Ryan says.

Ryan advises you to try new things and check out different groups on campus. “As long as you stay open to new ideas and new perspectives, you will find your sense of belonging at Grinnell.”
