Yes pretty close to living in Bermuda your cousin island. I am from New Jersey in US and am an expat here as a Welder for the power company. I love it here. I identify with everything you said. Been here about 3 years

Thank you for the info. I came to Cayman last minute for a wedding anniversary with my hubby and did not do my research. U helped fill some gaps.

With respect to wages, please also remember that we don’t pay income tax so what you make is what you take home. Tourists all over the world tend to leave their brains at home when on vacation. With respect to religious holidays, we are a British territory so we follow British rules NOT North American. We are a travelling people so a lot of businesses don’t carry too much because they know we get Island fever and shop in the states, it’s part of the fun and when you make Cayman dollars, your money goes further when you shop in the US or Canada because our money is valued higher, for example US$1.00 is only 80 cents Caymanian. Finally, we are a Christian nation and when you live here, Christian or not, you’ll appreciate the “religious” holidays. Had to put in my two cents here to ensure you did not walk away from this video with a negative/backwards opinion of Cayman

Just one correction. As an ex caymanian expat, buying goods on the island is not really tax free. The prices are more expensive due to the tax that are paid for goods arrival on the island (import tax). Logically you could not tax items again for retail etc. Otherwise it would have been astronomical. Just a technical point, so taxes are already included in whatever you buy. STILL love the island and miss it so much..

Couple of thing you left off or was wrong. 1. There is a minimum wage. 2. Canadians and Americansor anyone that comes from a taxed country opening bank accounts must declare this info. 3. 10 ft above the watermark is considered crown land and therefore ours. 4. If it is a holiday but cruise ships are in most stores in central George Town are open (apart from banks and govt offices). 5. There is a lot of shopping/clothing etc stores in grand Cayman, most are located on Eastern Avenue or Camana Bay. No shortage of anything just expensive because of the 22% and higher import duty.
Thanks for the info all the same.

When I was married we used to stay at a resort on the Grand Cayman‘s but it was on the opposite side of the island from Georgetown we really enjoyed our time there but it was very expensive and driving on the opposite side of the road was a little stressful. I really miss going there.

Please keep making these videos they are really helpful. I may be moving to GC from Switzerland and even though I was there for a short holiday it is hard to prepare for a big transition. Stay happy and healthy!

Congratulations great video, finally someone tells things the way they are and not sitting around all day to catch fake shots and advertise them so they get likes...and subscribers.. Keep it up good work.
I wanted to ask you though about crime, I heard its a bit of a problem there now. I am a Real Estate man, my name is Kurt and I wanted to have a bit of a chat with you, if you don't mind, about investments. If its ok with you, let me know how. Thank you.

Man, I would give up my life here in Maryland USA to live on this beautiful island. I've been there once on a cruise and did NOT wanna leave. Wanted to bring the digging dogs on the beach with me. 😁😁😁

Dear Jasmine,
thank you for your instructive and illustrating videos! I am a medical student from Germany and would like to work as a doc on Cayman Islands later. You talked about different wages. Do doctors earn approximately as much money as in the US or Germany?
