I love to walk ...but in India there is hardly any footpath for pedestrians..and on top of that ppl just spit all over the place ... sometimes I wonder do they go out every single day with a mission to spit as much as possible 😐

I read somewhere that walking on solid concrete or stone sidewalks may not be good for the human body in the long run, not sure though. That is why may be walking/jogging tracks in some Indian parks have sand on them.

In India there isn't even proper roads let alone walkways. My city is much more polluted than Delhi and Mumbai combined but it is never mentioned in any Govt records. We have 12 mega cement factories out of which not even one comply to environmental norms, once a month when they clean their chimneies half the city is covered 3-4 inch of Ash and harmful chemicals

I have a big park near where I live in Ottawa, Canada and I go for a walk in the park everyday in all four seasons summer, fall, winter, and spring.

Nope my hometown isn't as big a major cities you see around the world. But we have side walks and bike trails that are along the car roads. Our bike trails leads to various lakes and parks across the city and suburb areas. Been walking since the day I started to walk, took the public transportation since I start my first job training. Only been in cars with relatives or friends drive it. Even now I have a car that I bought for my wife and yet I never used it. I bought it exclusively for her. She does use it while I take the transportation. To be honest she knows how to drive more than me and I couldn't care. Don't mind walking to the super market even if it's 2 kilometers. I walked and biked longer than that my main point is I see using cars only for carrying cargo or going to areas that aren't accessible to the public transportation. I even use the public transportation if I travel to other countries to know more of the transportation system. Which I don't see a problem. I grew up walking, biking and taking the transportation system. In my opinion I find it quite relaxing especially traveling in planes and trains.

I am sorry but city of Funchal has all in a short distance from 500 meters to 3 kilometers, and i mean you have all, schools, hospital, supermarkets, stores, malls, everything, so tjis should be in first place.
