Currently halfway through the CCST Networking Cert Guide, used to be a field technician around a decade ago and this does well in serving as a refresher while being exposed to modern lingo but it's consumable and understandable enough to the avid reader. I do like how the exam can be remotely engaged with at anytime, I'll report back later next month upon taking it about the experience but the summary given just now is informative enough, thanks.

I'm currently doing the Skills For All career path "Junior Cybersecurity Analyst" for the CCST - Cybersecurity and thankfully they added the fundamental networking courses at the beginning, it went over all the groundwork and gave me a pretty good understanding of how everything works and how to set it up and troubleshoot it when it stops working, I'm still gonna work on my networking skills before moving on to any more advanced security stuff but from what I can tell the networking courses they made me take were pretty thorough, almost every topic you covered for the CCST - Networking was included in the career path for the Cybersecurity version.

I'm an aspiring net engineer and a year into my IT career, I have earned the A+, Net+, and Server+. I am studying for the CCNA and passed this exam during my CCNA prep. The CCST is probably the most practical of the four certifications I have earned. You need to know everything covered in the learning objectives to do fieldwork in data centers.

happy to see the industry is FINALLY understanding there needs to be better pathways to enter the field, any field. The dominance of comptia imo is damaging the entry to the information technology field

I just started the course few weeks ago. Already got the introduction to Cybersecurity badge and now on the basic network modules. I'm excited about the journey.

CCST got a new variant. The CCST IT Support cert came out not long ago. It seems like Cisco is trying to make equivelants to CompTIA's A+, Network+, and Security+.

I'm halfway through with it, just completed the first 2 modules from the training, another 2 left. I wouldn't say it isn't an easy one, nor that hard, it feels just right for a beginner. Would certainly recommend to a friend, my only concern is that it is not well known, but this might change in the near future. It's nice that it is for life and you don't have to renew it

I am going to recommend this to my coworkers. At the very least, it will help folks understand when I am babbling about Cisco. 🙂

Would you recommend these certs or are there other industry certs you would recommend getting instead. I'm going through the training material and am not sure if paying for the test is worth it. I was using it as study material for the a+ and network +

I really hope they don't make it required to get this exam before the ccna as right now i am studying for the ccna, but if they do, hopefully i can just take this exam with my ccna knowledge then take the ccna.

As a networking and security teacher for high school students. Should I test my students using the CCST Cybersecurity or Security+?

Should I take the CCST exam? I currently work as an IT engineer, but hardly touch the network devices like the routers and managed switches. I took the Network+ exam about 10 years ago, but didn’t use much of what I learnt, as my jobs didn’t involve much networking other than Windows network configuration. My role is slightly changing now, where I will be required to do more networking, e.g configure routers, switches, VLANs etc. Would CCST Networking be the best choice?

The CCST Networking cert sounds like the CCNA. What's not in it that's in the CCNA?
