The good news is that one chef believes he has figured out how they make it, and it’s really not that complicated. When I was in college in the North West, I worked at a burger chain up there called ArcticCircle. They had a "Secret Fry Sauce". I found out "the Secret" on my first shift. It was....(drum roll) *....one* jar of mayonnaise _and_ *one* bottle of catsup ...._stirred

I haven't tried the recipe here but I did just buy Aldi's Thousand Island sauce it's very good and then I was thinking how it tastes like In-N-Out's Sauce(spread). You guys
should buy a bottle and thank me after you try it. I was going to make a burger and I was seeing if Aldi's sold Thousand Island dressing and they do. I will buy a bottle
from now on and they cost less than $2

Walmart sells some "Secret Sauce" that I think is supposed to be like this. I do like it, but I don't remember the sauce from In-N-Out when I had it once, so I can't compare them. I put it on homemade fish and chicken sandwiches.

That recipe the guy reverse engineered is wrong. Starting with the lack of Worchester sauce and Vinegar and getting the type of relish wrong. It's dill pickle relish, not sweet. Changes the whole flavor when you get it wrong.

Hate to yell ya but it is just 1000 Island dressing. Maybe not the 'classic' recipe but any good one from the grocery store will work great on burgers etc. etc.

The homemade version of In-N-Out burger "Animal Sauce" begins at the 2:20 time mark. Interesting that "BIG MAC" sauce has no tomato products like ketchup, tomato sauce, or tomato paste.
