Great update.
The real question is, why the cancellation to Tortola? I would be curious to know to know. Looks like Viking is the stock to watch, it goes up everyday, while Carnival and other hover in the same price range for months.

Thanks for the updates. I call foul on NCL's reasons to cancel the port calls. They don't want to spend the money on the fuel to get there and the costs to dock there. Even their private island is not able to take ships most of the time due to weather. I liked NCL as a solo cruise but won't sail with them again until the new management gets their heads out of their behinds and realize the cruise bubble will be popped if you keep treating passengers like garbage.

That’s so sad and tragic about the crewman that went overboard. In grand scheme the total number of incidents is small, but I just wonder if something more can be done in the cruise industry to prevent these tragedies. Perhaps regular psychological exam, maybe looking into their wellness programs to see if additional resources can be extended to help individual’s experiencing thoughts of harm to themselves or others. IDK…just wish something can be done to prevent at least the cases of overboard crewmen.
I can definitely see how the cruise port would be upset with the economic impact its community will experience with the loss of 5 cancelled port stops. The downstream effects will be significant for people living paycheck to paycheck and solely dependent upon the cruise ship tourism. SMH. I wasn’t sure if there was going to be any good news my friend. The teacher nominations for a free cruise is great and a well deserved treat for whoever the winners. Thanks for sharing Doug. Oh see RCL stock getting close to the $150 a share people on another forum mock me back last fall when it's was like $90 and made the call we would see this in the stock by spring this year, hope those folks remember that.😁

Mornin' Doug. I'm pretty disappointed with NCL. We're not impacted by the current cancellations but, further out, we booked our next cruise to Tortola and St. Thomas because we really enjoy Tortola and St. Thomas. The rationale given in their letter is very vague and appears to boil down to it being more profitable for NCLH to have folks spending their $$$ on their private island. Port cancellations for weather, disease outbreaks, and extreme local violence are understandable. Foregoing an existing commitment to passengers because it's inconvenient is reprehensible.

Also, a two night cruise is fine if you live a few hours from the port. C'mon NCL. If you're going to honor educators, make it worth the effort.

I'm thinking NCL has 2 swings and 2 misses today (so far).

We have been cruising for over twenty years now and have been on many different cruise lines except for Norwegian. We saw this cruise went to Tortola so we booked it. We were very excited to try Norwegian and go to Tortola for the first time. Unfortunately our cruise is one that got impacted by the cancellation. The letter we got did NOT explain in any detail as to why and gave us a 100 for the cancellation.. We are Mad! We are NOT impressed. We sail in 19 days and we are already looking forward to getting off. We feel that Norwegian has handled this very poorly among a few other issues we have had with them in just the booking process. We now wish we had upgraded our travel insurance to the “ cancel for any reason”. As far as the two day cruise for Teachers… it used to be seven days now cut down to just two. Shame on Norwegian! They only care about themselves. This will be our first and last time with Norwegian. Never again. There are better cruise lines out there.

NCL skipping ports to make more money, then lying about their motivation. I’ve never been more disappointed with a mainstream cruise line in all my years.
