I’m sorry but it doesn’t matter what that mother told OPs kids they chose to end their relationship with him after degrading him for years driving him to the point of going so far as to end it all. They were very much adults and knew what they were doing. Hes does owe them anything, not forgiveness, not hearing them out, nothing. OP has worked on healing from that time in his life and moved on is remarried and raising kids. I wish people would dispel with the notion that prioritizing yourself and not wishing to engage with people or situations that caused you harm or trauma in the past means you haven’t healed. Thats not true.
