Is the earth warmer -overall- during southern winter, or is the closer distance offset by the shorter time we spend AT that close distance since earth is moving faster near perihelion?

With the sun being so low in the sky even at midday it means less intense rays, therefore less heat to. Of course in the southern hemisphere not only is the earth closest to the sun, the tilt of the earth is towards the sun to.
