Move it to a field like all other festivals. Residents are hostages in their own homes for 3 days . You worry about your kids, can’t walk your dog and you have to board up your windows! Like it’s The Purge!

It's disgusting this is allowed in this country. You couldn't go to crime riddled pits of Eastern Europe and see these levels of violence on the streets.

It was fantastic fun in the 1960, a cultural reminder for West Indian people. In the 1960, when I was a nurse, there was some animosity towards the British people among West Indians. It's grown since then, I think. Possibly, as young West Indians have no first-hand knowledge of their culture.

No great love of the type of people who live in Notting Hill, no great love of Caribbean culture, no great love of lefty-liberals who attend these events to show how enriched they are. It can continue for as long as it likes as far as I'm concerned. The only change I would make is to withdraw the policing and watch how "one of the world's best street parties" shows exactly what it is, and what it represents.
