While small in stature, this finely crafted prelude is full of musical devices that will challenge your technique and musicality.

Written in a vocal style, this prelude becomes magical when you bring out the three voices within the piece. The interactions between the voices can be varied from performance to performance as you make choices of which one to feature at any given point in time.

Such a wonderful rendition of a great piece of music. Everything out of the CGCA is of the highest quality.
This piece is in D minor (I think), which is the saddest key in all of music according to the guitar virtuoso Nigel Tufnel.

I think I will go weep in the corner for a bit. 😢

Beautully rendered as usual! Every time I listen to one of your performances, I come away totally impressed by the unique fashion in which you interpreted the piece. There is always that 'Simon Powis signature' about it, which always sets it apart from the other posts on the Tube. I come away from listening to your music thinking, 'He really gave a great deal of thought to 'how' the piece should unfold'. It is a very nuanced execution of your interpretation - or so it seems to me. Anyway, I am always inspired to rethink the way I play a piece and pay more attention to the subtleties of dynamics and phrasing and 'feelings' possible with a piece of music.
