Being within one degree sounds incredibly accurate until you realize the entire sky is divided into only 360 degrees. And at that distance, one degree works out to a huge distance. It must have been much more accurate than one degree for him to find it so quickly, unless a great deal of luck was involved.

Uranus and Neptune's orbits are in resonance. That makes it much easier.

I've heard there is potentially another planet "X" out there based on the same reason. If true, why haven't we found it given that we can compute far faster and more accurately than ever using modern day computers?
