White dress was recorded in one take, the vocals were completely freestyled and are supposed to represent her being an innocent 19 year old on the verge of something huge. Its gorgeous

fun fact: lana del rey told rolling stone that when she recorded the white dress chorus she was joking (YES JOCKING) and when she listened to the recording she ended up liking it, so she left it like that, as we know it today

I think this is her most vocally daring project yet. Def wasn’t expecting her to burst into a rock strut mid song on Dance till we die. She’s definitely been trying different styles of delivery too while paring it down instrumentally.

white dress vocally really does feel like lizzy grant, it’s so precious. i didnt like her voice in it at first because i knew she could sing smoother, but i was so wrong. it was a deliberate choice and is what sets it apart. its now one of my top favs of her entire discography.
