By far the easiest/simplest method I'd seen thus far. Thanks! I was having all kinds of troubles trying to burn a barebones breadbroad 328P. So I did this using a cheap Uno clone and now it has a permanent job as a programmer board. :-P

did not show how you burned the boot loader. you just click on burn boot-loader from the IDE menu?

Best instructions I have seen on how to do this, just missed the part showing clicking the burn bootloader option other than that, perfect.
