0:00: What size generator do you need to run a food truck and what generator do food trucks actually use?
0:03: So, in this video, I will cover the four types and explain how they can be used and which would be best for your food truck business needs.
0:07: We're gonna dive into that right now.
0:24: [Music]
0:27: All right, so welcome back to Marketing Food Online.
0:28: As I mentioned in the introduction, we will be covering food truck generators business generators.
0:31: What is truly the best of the best? Be sure to subscribe and hit the Bell notification so of course you don't miss any video here on Marketing Food Online.
0:35: So let's get to it.
0:45: Food trucks often use generators to power their appliances and equipment when they are not connected to a specific power source.
0:54: The type of generator used will depend on the specific needs of the food truck, including the amount of power required and the size and weight of the specific generator.
1:01: Some common types of generators used by food trucks include the following which we will cover each individually very specifically.
1:09: Number one of course the traditional gas generator.
1:10: Number two, diesel operated generators.
1:13: Number three, even propane generated operators.
1:16: Number four, solar powered generators.
1:23: So, number one, gasoline generators are portable generators that run on gasoline and are typically smaller, lighter than other types of generators.
1:41: They are also relatively easy to find and of course relatively inexpensive compared to other types of generators.
1:59: Also, be sure to watch all the way to the end for more video resources on starting a food truck business.
2:06: Okay, so number two, diesel generators are larger generators that run on diesel fuel and are much more powerful than gasoline generators.
2:34: Also check out the blog link down on our website for the full list of best food truck generators.
2:43: Okay guys, so number three is propane generators. Propane generators that run on propane are a good option for food trucks that do not have easy access to either gasoline or diesel.
3:15: Okay so number four is really unique, solar generators are portable generators that use solar panels to charge batteries which then use power appliances and of course equipment on your food truck.
3:57: So there it is, that is four types of generators that most food trucks will find themselves using either one or the other.
4:24: If you're looking for something that's cost effective, you might want to go with diesel, even though the diesel gas diesel prices for the actual diesel itself has gone up quite a lot.
4:36: So you want to really take a list and recap and think of what exactly you need and how much energy and power you're going to need for the types of equipment you have.
5:10: Definitely take in mind what you need, what your specific needs are, and then from there make your best decision on the different choices that are available.
5:19: So again, check out those resources down below the video, we have additional on our website of course, we have a gigantic website with a ton of resources including blogs and additional information on equipment for food trucks.

I'm currently working on sourcing everything needed for a 5-meter partially solar powered food trailer with two large storage batteries: two propane flat griddles, one propane four-burner stove, one propane two-basket deep fryer, one or two propane steam tables, one or two propane ovens, one 1.8m electric refrigerator (curious if a propane refrigerator is available), electric LED lights, electric exhaust fans and an electric AC. Two largest possible propane tanks will be fitted near the trailer hitch.

I am very much considering buying a State Fair mini-donut oven to sell donuts at events. It basically warms up donuts. It's a oven the size of a large toaster oven and it is 13.3 amps What type & size generator do you recommend for that? I will be running it for up to 8 hours continuously.

I have a slushie machine i am trying to run off a generator the machine states it is 1080watts and 9.8 amps. I tried it on my 2500watt 15amp inverter generator and it overloads once the compressor tried to engage. Any idea of what size gen to use to power this? Was hoping to just get another 2500 and parallel them. Do you think this would be enough?
