Ice test re Pure Silver (Ag 47) scrap, slug, disk ~ 50.6 grams

Silver has the highest thermal conductivity of any common metal or alloy. Note how the ice begins to melt immediately, as if it has been placed on something hot, rather than as if it it was placed on something that was just room temperature. This test indicates that the slug may be silver.
