thanks so much! It is such a lovely little song and with such a nice instrumentation. Good memories!

The original of this song is by The Fortunes. Lynsey wrote it with Ron Roker but recorded her version after The Fortunes had had a hit with it.

One drop of rain
On your window pane
Doesn't mean to say
There's a thunderstorm comin'
The rain may pour
For an hour or more
But it doesn't matter
You know it doesn't matter
One gentle breeze
Blowin' softly through the trees
Doesn't mean to say
There's a hurricane hummin'
Don't go runnin'
Everytime you hear it comin'
'Cause it doesn't matter
You know it doesn't matter
One little word
That you may have overheard
Doesn't mean to say
That my love for you is dyin'
Don't go cryin'
Over second-hand lyin'
Cause it doesn't matter
You know it doesn't matter
It's a storm in a teacup
Brewin' up double
Almost any little trouble
It's a storm in a teacup
It really doesn't matter
If it pitter pitter patters all the day
Pitter patter, pitter patter, pitter patter
One little word
That you may have overheard
Doesn't mean to say
That my love for you is dyin'
Don't go cryin'
Over second-hand lyin'
Cause it doesn't matter
You know it doesn't matter
It's a storm in a teacup
Brewin' up double
All those tiny little troubles
It's a storm in a teacup
It really doesn't matter
If it pitter pitter patters all the day
Pitter patter, pitter patter, pitter patter
One drop of rain
On your window pane
Doesn't mean to say
There's a thunderstorm comin'
The rain may pour
For an hour or more
But it doesn't matter
You know it doesn't matter
One gentle breeze
Blowin'softly through the trees

I am not really a fan of Lynsey though I am sorry she is no longer with us, and this track really does her credit---it's good enough to be an A-side.

Great song, great artist. It's unfortunate Motown didn't produce it. The recording and sound engineering/mix is amateur hour. The orchestration and arrangement is decent. The quality of a recording will make you or break you.
