Finding Your Proper Seat Height

What is the proper seat height? Simple answer is one that makes you feel comfortable on the bike. However, here are some approaches we use when sizing people up quickly on the floor.

And setting the saddle too height can be dangerous especially when you are riding on busy streets. You should at least be able to start and stop your bike efficiently. Having a very high saddle can cause back problems. For a year I was having a hard time figuring out why I get back pains when I ride. Then I realized I was reaching too hard on the handlebars because my saddle is too high. When I lowered it, the problem is gone.
