It seems like Elvis could never do as he wanted! A big reason why he got so depressed in the 70's. Excellent video!

I believe Elvis had an enquiring mind and was a lot smarter than people realise. His book collection covered many subjects including history as well as his spiritual studies. A keen interest in current affairs also attest to this. I read an account once where an ex British WW2 General who was a friend of Lord Louis Mountbatten met Elvis in Las Vegas and was very impressed with his knowledge of World War 2 and the various campaigns of that conflict.
Larry was obviously a conduit for Elvis to explore a deeper philosophy. Of course the guys must have found it very frustrating!

That picture of him and Parker. Elvis loved that make up.

Larry Geller was at Graceland when Elvis died. They stayed friends for the rest of Elvis`s life. Larry was always loyal to ELVIS. He did not care about Tom Parker, and used to ignore Parker when he tried to hang out with Larry. Larry was there for Elvis, not for Tom Parker. Many of the other members of the Memphis Mafia used to snitch to Tom Parker on Elvis. Joe Esposito was one of them. It is kind of sad that Joe Esposito spent the rest of his life telling people he was Elvis`s best friend, when he in reality was more Tom Parkers best friend, instead of Elvis. Larry Geller was always there for Elvis when Elvis needed him. He was present at Graceland when Elvis died, and he always provided Elvis with true friendship. Larry has unlike many of the other Memphis mafia guys, never said anything bad about Elvis after Elvis died. He has always talked about how great Elvis was, and how beautiful he was in person.

Just read Geller's book again, and watched a bunch of his interviews. He has really cool stories and really still cares about Elvis!👍 Seems like a good guy! And I hit that like button as hard as I could !😃 lol

It's amazing the Col got eyes and ears everywhere. Controlling to the extreme. I felt for Elvis. I want to hug him.

He was always surrounded by the wrong people. Besides his beautiful voice and looks, there's no telling what other things he could have accomplished because he was interested in so many things. Poor sweet baby boy.♥

Good topic 👍🏻 A lot of people didn't like Larry...he was a distraction from the funny moments they wanted to live. The Colonel has always tried to alienate people who might be "inconvenient" to his goals. I think Priscilla initially tried to share his spiritual interest, but more to please him than out of interest. I personally believe that his friendship with Larry was as important as friendship with others. Elvis has always been a religious and introspective man. I'm glad that in his life he met people who understood this side of him. I think it was also a way for him to stay in touch with his mother and what she taught him as a child, even though it often clashed with his hectic lifestyle. I still have to read Larry's book "Leaves of Elvis' Garden" that I have in ebook, but I'm very curious.

I can see where the Memphis Mafia (and Parker) would have felt threatened by Geller which is sad. I understand vying for The King's attention and friendship but it seems selfish (to me) to block someone's spiritual growth and that's something Elvis could have "leaned on" when having doubt or times of trouble. I know Elvis was a believer in God and a seeker of "higher truth" because he was a sensitive and caring man and just wanted to do right by God. It was a crime to try and deprive Elvis of growing spiritually and expanding his 'spiritual knowledge". Some folks were afraid of of losing their "grip" on The King. Elvis was a sharp dresser and always had a real flair for looking amazing with his extravagant jumpsuits and very nice clothing but we all know that despite this Elvis was above all the materialism. This is purely my opinion and at this point I'm just rambling. 😂 Thank you for the upload, kind sir. 🙏

I had the pleasure of not only meeting Larry Geller but also having an hour conversation with him in 1997 in Memphis.. at the time he had a book out, I believe it was called ‘In search of God’ or something like that ( blue and white with Elvis’ face on cover)… I don’t remember…. I know a-lot of the guys thought he was weird but, he is one of the most spiritual and nicest humans I ever met…. Elvis wanted him back in his life and that’s why you see Larry backstage in the last concert…. I was able to take several photos with Larry! He didn’t have a bad word to say about any of the guys. He said they were all special ….⚡️⚡️

Even though I'm not a religious man I do have spiritual beliefs like spirits of nature and all that, I do agree with how he was trying to find meaning to life. Even though he didn't like the whole hippie thing he definitely was doing what most of the young were doing in trying to find the meaning of life. What the colonel obviously didn't like was that Elvis was educating himself and trying to find a peace of mind whatever that might of been to him.

Thanks for this video I really enjoyed it. Elvis and the Colonel had a very toxic relationship I believe.

And because of this Elvis probably felt isolated from his entourage for not understanding this or supporting Elvis. Usually if one follows a spiritual quest this is what happens, you lose your friends and alienate family. Wasn't this the cause leading up to Elvis falling in his bathroom just before filming a movie. I actually feel sorry for Elvis leading a very sheltered life because of his popularity, and control from the Colonel. And then his entourage not understanding Elvis seeking spirituality! Elvis had a burdensome uphill path. You Gave Me A Mountain this

Listen to the GOSPEL SONGS OF ELVIS, see how many times HE SINGS ABOUT HIS GOD.

As a seeker, Elvis was lucky in finding Larry Geller as his spiritual mentor. It seems he never took financial advantage on Elvis friendship...
