More of a logistics question about the pot. I have the sea to summit kettle and asked the manufacturer about the warning to not boil dry, they claim to be concerned about the adhesive between the silicone and aluminum. This looks like a similar pot, have you had any issues with searing or sauteing in it?

"Searing" anything in a camp stove generally leads to a mess you can't clean up till you get home. Any tips? Is there enough fats in that SPAM that it renders out?
