Best wholesome show ever! How she goes down to meet him is an example of equality in a relationship I have taken with me for years. LONG before fake attempts of equality were a thing.
It is okay to meet a partner (or any relationship) on the same level. You don't need society to tell you, oh she's a woman she dasen't kneel down to his level, he doesn't rise up to hers. Bull.
These two are priceless and I wish to thank Judy Dench for giving me a role model through her work that many I know don't have anymore. In many ways this show and her performance were a stand in mother figure and without knowing or being more than a character in a show, Judy's performance did it better than my own terrible mother and every fake stand in mother figure in life ever did, that only ever play acted at the role and then ditched me when it suited them.
We need stories like this again.
