Yes should have been under vapor barrier, upside down would have been sticky side up, it's covered by starter and shingles

Gotta laugh at all you "pros" saying the ice shield is upside down. The ice and water technically should have been tucked under the underlayment (and underlayment should be over drip edge -ice and water goes under drip edge), but it's cut in half and they used the factory edges down, it makes no difference.

It's only "upside down" if they're running another row of ice above it. Other than that, that strip at the top of the ice shield means nothing but something you might slip on lol

I like the idea of placing it on your bottom soffit, only with a closed soffit and if theirs not a butt load of insulation blocking it off.

Why did they cut the wood near the eaves? Is that a new soffit (air intake) system. Ive never seen that extra piece they put over the drip edge..

Smart vent. But they didn't tuck it under the felt. Also.

The ice guard was put on top on the felt. Water runs downhill. So water gets in there .
