Environment Matters - Teachers, Student Honored for Environmentalism

The DEP's Youth Environmental Program recently honored Lilly Bias of Scott High School in Boone County with this year's Rick Vecellio Memorial Scholarship. The four-year, ten thousand dollar scholarship is awarded each year to an active member of the Youth Environmental Program. Sarah Hann, of White Sulphur Springs Elementary and Robert Miller of the Boone Career and Technical Center were named Environmental Teachers of the Year. Each receives a $500 personal award and a $1,000 award to promote STEM education projects at their schools.
