Our provider shows how to cast a broken arm using fiberglass wrapping.

Today, we use fiberglass instead of plaster because it is more breathable, and comfortable and is still available in fun colors to choose from. A proper fitting forearm cast allows the patient to easily move their fingers and ensures blood flow to and from the hand.

Fractured my ulna and radius 2 days ago. I have to wear it for 4-6 weeks, I praise God it wasn’t my dominant arm and not immobilizing my elbow joint

Another type of short arm cast is the thumb spica. I got one this morning.

Ugh got my cast a week ago. No matter how breathable it is, it’s hot

If you have a wrist fracture can you do a shorter cast instead of having it go nearly to the elbow
