Campaign Against Cancer was launched by the Edward Foundation in the hopes of raising one million dollars to fund a multi-phase expansion of the Naperville center.

“We started with a small physician practice, and actually over the years as we've really wanted to have all the specialties in place to care for the patients in our community we've just kept adding what we needed and now we really have kind of run out of space,” said Jenna VanGilder, Administrative Director of Cancer Services and Plainfield Campus Operations for Edward Hospital.

Upgrades would include the addition of 34 infusion bays, 20 exam rooms, and a larger waiting area, all of which are expected to be completed by 2018.

The Cancer Center currently has two locations; one in Naperville, started in 2005; the second in Plainfield, added in 2009. The Naperville location alone saw more than 56,000 patient visits in 2015, putting it close to capacity.

As part of their fundraising efforts, the foundation is offering the opportunity to name a number of areas throughout the center.
