i think this got contested in an Australian court and the court ruled that it's not false advertising since the customer could theoretically make the actual item look like the advertised item with some reconstruction and that a restaurant chain (such as Mcdonalds) couldn't be reasonably expected to have consistent item quality in all locations

I know nobody cares, but I’m putting this out there:

As someone in an advertising college course, I can confirm that the majority of stuff you see on fast food or restaurant advertisements is faked.

While it’s illegal to use CGI or other tech influenced imagery, you can still jazz up the picture on screen with practical effects such as (for example) fast food burger ads- camera angles and lighting can make a greasy gross patty look shiny and juicy.
