I'm so glad we don't have to keep up with all these offering laws. I would have needed a big chart or spreadsheet to remember what was sacrificed and when it was to be sacrificed. Thank you Jesus that we only have to believe. You made the perfect atonement for my sin.

Never done a Bible study where the phrase “snitches get stitches” entered in. 😂right on

God seeks out the lost, just as He did with Adam and Eve when they hid, Cain before he sinned, and Israel despite their rebellion. Jesus does the same—calling Zacchaeus by name, restoring Peter after his failure, and transforming Saul from an enemy into a messenger of the gospel. He doesn’t wait for us to have it all together or keep His distance—He takes the initiative to call, restore, and redeem. Thank You, Lord! I know I can't fix myself, so I surrender to You in repentance and faith. Use me to share this hope with others. Amen!

"God meets his people where they are...poverty and all." WOW. What powerful and true words!

I love how in 5:7 and 5:11, God tells them “if he cannot afford…” then presents another option. This signifies even then that the less fortunate would not be kept away from right standing with God. He made a way for ALL people ❤

I can't imagine trying to keep up with all these laws and offerings! It must've taken up most of their time. When I think about that, I realize just how much freedom Jesus brought us with His perfect sacrifice, and I am externally grateful! 🙌🙏❤️

God made a way for the poor to bring an offering they could afford (Lev 5:11) and He provided food for the priests (Lev 6:17). Our God makes a way and He provides. 💜

The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.
Leviticus 6:13 NIV Lord, keep the fire of prayer always burning on the altar of my heart and may I tend to it so that it never goes out. 💕✝️

I love how you explain how God does not run away from us when we commit sin. I have always been told sin separates us from God. Like He turns His back on us and won’t be with us until we confess that sin.

I really admire the way God continues to lay out exactly what the people need to do in order to be right with Him and each other. It’s encouraging to know and clearly see how clear He was in His instructions and details to keep His people on the right track, yet they continued to cut corners or grumble about the process. Not much has changed with humanity. He still hasn’t given up on us. He’s still pursuing and drawing near, making it clear that He loves us and wants our hearts.

I have to say that I really honed in on the word “trespass” today. When I was in 6th grade, I learned my first long Bible verse, the Lord’s Prayer, and in that verse it says, “…forgive my trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us…” I always was a tad confused about that word, because to me, all I can think about is going on someone’s property when there is a Do Not Enter sign. When do I ever do that? But for 30 years, I just went with it and never looked it up. Today I did and here is what it said: “To pass over, to go beyond one's right in place or act; to injure another; to do that which annoys or inconveniences another; any violation of law, civil or moral; it may relate to a person, a community, or the state, or to offenses against God.” Oh- yeah. That makes sense. I have definitely been an annoyance, inconvenience, and gone beyond my place in action where I didn’t need to and shouldn’t have. Praise God that I can ask for forgiveness for those things and He grants it, even when it’s unintentional!

Happy Valentine’s Day, TBR family. Although I don’t celebrate much of the hallmark traditions of this day, I do try to teach the kids that today is the day we get to celebrate His love for us and show it to others on a grander scale. We love because He first loved us, and the greatest commandment He left us with is to love God and love others. I pray that today we can share His love and His light to others who may not be easy to love, or to those who haven’t experienced His love. May He be with us and equip us with all that we need to love others well, today and every day.

Leviticus 6:12 ESV
[12] The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not go

Leviticus 6:13 ESV
[13] Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.

This is a reminder of God's presence and power. He is always available. Thank God for the presence of the Holy Spirit (Fire) in us. He is constantly purifying, refining, and transforming us with His power.

Loved this explanation on today’s readings. God doesn’t run from sin, He draws nearer to us. Thank you Father!

These chapters show me that God takes sin very seriously -- even unintentional sin. I feel that many Christians (myself included) view and treat sin too flippantly, thereby being complacent with Jesus' ultimate sacrifice for OUR sins. By studying old testament scripture like Leviticus, this helps remind me of how seriously I should treat sin and try to avoid sinning at all cost.

With these many instructions about the different sacrifices, what to eat and what not to eat, all of the how to's and what am beyond grateful that Jesus came to die once and for all.

THANK JESUS! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️

God is our Provider. He provides what we need just as He did for the priests, giving them their regular share of the offerings (Lev 7:36).

My "God shot" is the gratitude I have in Jesus filling all these needs for atonement. He is the full payment needed and I don't have to work or sacrifice to receive it. Thank you, Lord 💕

It's not God who can't be amongst sin. It is sinners who cannot be near the full glory of God without dying. That is why we need Jesus to make us righteous before we could enter heaven.

God isn't afraid of sin. Everything that isn't God is less than perfect. He wants us to draw near to him not run away & hide with our sin. Thank You Jesus for your mercy
