Who was your favorite Founding Father (before you learned about Gouverneur Morris) and why?

Morris wouldn't recognize Thomas Paine's american citizenship, so Paine was almost killed by the French Revolution. And one of the reasons Paine was imprisoned is because he was against killing of the king, he wasn't a fan of the terror as the animation depicted him

My favorite FF is Thomas Paine, especially since his crucial role is so often forgotten. He convinced the colonists to go to war against the more powerful military on the planet, and then when we were taking an ass whupping, he convinced them to keep going. Given how important persuasion and propaganda is these days, it's kinda strange that Paine isn't more celebrated.

my favorite Morris story is, someone or maybe himself, dared to slap George Washington on the back like he was one of the boys with a loud, "How are you this morning General?" and the look George Washington gave Morris made him regret every decision he had made in life up to that point.

I had a 10th grade American History teacher, who name by name told us the biographies of each, and subsequently, every person who attended The Continental Congress in York and the 2nd in Philadelphia..History came alive !
