I cared for covid patients on the recovering end as a home health nurse. Even though they were home, they were still sick---very weak, on oxygen, unable to even walk through the house without getting short of breath. Some of them were sent home too soon, and that's how I caught it. It is very real, and was very deadly in the pre-vaccine days. That this nurse sacrificed her time with her baby and husband to care for someone else's husband is what we do, and it's awesome that one of us was recognized for that.

As the father of two RN's, this video makes my heart swell with love and pride. I really love seeing videos like these because a lot of the time, the nurses go unnoticed but the doctors wouldn't be able to do what they do without my daughters and millions of other nurses. And if I hear one more person say “none of this was real”…or that “people were not THAT sick”…I’m gonna snap. I work in an ICU in Ohio, on the front line and saw our nurses work their butts off to keep people alive…no extra pay, no recognition…just doing their job. I was proud to be a part of their team. Great story. She deserved this and a thousand times more.
