I had this treatment yesterday from my SLUH urologist, and it was simple and nearly painless. A couple of times I felt a tiny prick and that was all; it was no more uncomfortable than a pap smear. My urologist is very experienced in this procedure and she is always wonderful and reassuring with her patients. I will certainly continue to have it done in the future.

Is this safe for a woman in her eighties?

My mother is 82 years old and has the interstim implanted. She has no feeling of when she needs to go and wets the bed about everynight. Should the interstim work for this? And if not what other options are there? We have bothered the dr. many times over this and been told to do kegels and drink less. Mom has trouble with trying the kegel excercises. Really her quality of life is so low and will not leave the house anymore.
