No fancy graphics, just a few words on how I'm doing. Sorry if this comes as a downer to end the year - but let's look ahead a hopefully brighter 2023! Enjoy :)

Oh and let me know which games you would like to see on the channel next year!

2022 sucked for me too; deteriorating health, chronic pain, (no family or friends, (friends by choice) to support me) have left me in a bad place physically and mentally. I spend a lot of time lying down but am trying not to. I go into 2023 still with chronic illness and pain, but there are happy moments and I live for those.

Life is hard, Pete, and harder when you have problems. I wish you all the best.

Hey Pete. I've been a longtime fan of yours.

When I started on youtube I had like 4 youtubers in mind that I wanted to emulate and you were one of them. I love your style and personality. I'm full time on YT now and for what it's worth, I love it. Sure, there are ups and down and uncertainty, but I finally have control of my life. I'm in a much better space in terms of my mental health.

I just thought I'd let you know, I think you're awesome and I hope you find great success and happiness with whatever direction you choose.

Looking forward to biotech! I haven't had a chance to play it yet myself! In terms of future games, I think Manor Lords would be a fun one to watch you play

tips from the psychiatrist here:

the insight that you need to rest is already a very important and crucial step, just do it and try to leave behind as much guilt as possible... we live in a world that we shame on resting... its brutal, but strangely true...

from the yt channel perspective, you dont need to apologize, or justifiy nothing, youre an awesome dude and an awesome content creator, all your followers, me included, will always be here waiting for top notch content, dont worry! and furthermore on that regard, channels like lets game it out e.g. or even kurgzgesagt that already posted here have tons of followers and they made content for their liking first, or at least thats what i feel about them, we just embark on the journey with them, so feels like they dont 'leave audience waiting' for new videos... my tip is go for that mindset too... you first, we'll go along, no matter the content!

happy new year for you and everybody, hope help somehow with my words!

cheers!!

i dont usually comment on videos, but i just wanted to say i just started watching your stuff a couple months ago, and your rimworld content has been fantastic for helping me sleep at night! i have insomnia and i rapidly powered through 2/3 of the playthroughs; the way you narrate everything is super helpful because i can just close my eyes and listen to what's going on. i struggle with mental health too, so i just wanted to cheer you on into 2023! its never easy but just trying to get better is a step further than a lot of people make it <3

Appreciate your openness and honesty — mental health struggles and their impacts on life are a challenge that too many are unwilling to acknowledge.

Take care of yourself, do what you can, and see where the journey takes you. Not much more to do than that.

As far as future videos, yes I’d love to see you experimenting with RW’s Biotech. You always have an interesting take on gameplay and tell such great stories with your colonists. It would be fun to see what you’ll do with all the options they packed into the expansion.

Be well.

Oh, and screw 2022.

burnout is debilitating and it takes a long time to get back to normal (I might know from personal experience)
I found your content originally via the original ice sheet rimworld and that will always remain my favourite
watching you go through a more story based game like Banner Saga would be cool, but I'm not sure how it fares for completionism/optimization and might be too much of a random experience
hope you have a lovely new start to the year :)

Love to see you do Prison Architect! Similar to rimworld in the concept sense, but the gameplay of running and keeping a prison safe would look great from someone like you!

I would like to see Pete Complete, Ph.D next year. That would be really rad. If you have extra time, maybe some Rimworld here and there as well

I'm not a content creator(disclaimer), but from listening to other content creators talk about their journey, here is my personal view. I think switching 100% to YouTube would be a bad idea as long as you aren't mentally ready for it. It's great that you are aware of it. If you are not obsessively passionate about the work, YouTube isn't a good full-time job and might actually make your mental health drop even more. I've been addicted to your Rimworld series since the Ice Sheet. (I'm actually thinking about rewatching it like a favorite TV show. haha) I think you are the #1 Rimworld story teller on YouTube! But you are more important than the content. I fully believe the content will actually get even better as your mental state improves. I'm a patient guy. You're not losing me as a subscriber no matter how long it takes. I hope you have a fantastic New Year and that 2023 is 1000x better than 2022. ^_^

What I’d like to see this year, more than anything, is for you to become a happy and healthy person. Whatever that looks like, your community is 100% behind you. Here’s hoping that 2023 is a better year for all of us. Cheers, Pete. Take care of yourself.

As someone who has had family with long term struggles with mental issues, particularly depression, (I'm talking up to two decades in one instance), it sounds to me like you've got a reasonable approach to your mental health. It certainly isn't something you just "fix" or get better at like basketball, and while that is incredibly frustrating, just remind yourself that many people, even after years, do improve and heal. Hope is very important.

I think the idea of smaller 3-5 episode series focused on shorter games or games from other genres could be great fun to try out. Give you more chance to experiment with what sort of games work best with your style of gameplay without the huge time commitment.

Full support for you, Pete! (As regards new series, I still think that Frostpunk would be a nice addition to your channel)

Hey Pete. There is absolutely nothing wrong with uncertainty and being brave in the face of uncertainty is an honorable quality to have as a person. It's quite often overlooked and understated. I'm sure so many of us can relate and share that sentiment. Thanks for some great stories and keep swinging mate. You've got this.

Happy new year. Take your time and look after yourself.
2022 will be a year that most people want to forget.
2023 is going to be fantastic for everyone! (This is my opinion and if 2023 turns into a poo poo bum, it wasn't my fault ;-) )

Pete, you're our favorite RimWorld character the way you talk about yourself in stats. There's nothing wrong with having a mental break from time to time. <3
