The Pioneer DDJ-REV5 is a Great All-Arounder | DJ Controller Review

If you’ve budgeted somewhere in the neighborhood of a grand for a DJ controller, the DDJ-REV5 should definitely be on your shopping list.

With full-size jog wheels, a DJM-like mixer section, tight Serato and Rekordbox integration, and easy access to stems, it covers all the bases for any DJ willing to mix in two channels.

In fact, for the price, the DDJ-REV5 is THE recommendation. When it comes to thousand-dollar DJ controllers, there aren’t many to go around these days.

Today’s budget controller segment has lots to offer, and there are quite a few premium controllers and standalones with astronomical prices. But once upon a time, the thousand dollar mark was where you found all the high-end premium stuff. As the high-end has gotten pricier and pricier, it’s left a Serato and rekordbox-shaped hole in the middle of the market… until now.

Can you listen to your auxiliary plug in device like a I pad for a back up for a secondary device. I am always bringing a I pad for back up or music requested that I don't have in my library. I want to be able to que up a song from a secondary music source. Thinking of this controller instead of the 1000srt for serato. Great video

I might grab the Rev 5 until they update the Rev 7 bc I've heard some bad things about the Rev 7 as far as platter issues go so hopefully they'll fix that.. Until then, the Rev 5 seems like the go to

The way they handled stems on this controller is how they should have handled it on the Flx-10

Does the aux input go direct through the master output and uses the master levels for volume control or one of the channels? Also, do the mics use one of the deck channels dedicated for each, or both mic inputs go through the master as I mentioned for the aux input? Hope that makes sense.

Great video ! I have been wanting to invest in turntables/ Controller for 30 years lol. Iim finally going to do it. II was locked in on the Rev 1 but now the Rev 5 dropped I'm wondering gif this is A good starting point because it gives me something to grow into as well.
