What's the crisis in Haiti?

The situation in Haiti is dire: a majority of hospitals have closed. There’s almost no way to get clean drinking water. Prices for food and basic needs have soared. And there’s a cholera outbreak. What’s happened?

To recap: Haiti’s gas prices have doubled in recent months. In response, a powerful gang leader has demanded that the prime minister resign, and as an act of protest the gang then blocked off the country’s main fuel terminal. Without fuel, almost everything shuts down. Cue the domino effect and here we are.

The international community now faces a big question: Should Haiti be left to fight their way through this on their own? Or should foreign countries intervene at the risk of making things worse?

Haiti has been like this since the Haitian revolution. Don't like the leader? Get rid of him. In almost all causes the leaders made decisions to help the country

Just don't get the USA involved. It wouldn't do a bit of good. 🇺🇸
