It seems you want to replace some misconceptions with other ones.

Africa is a continent with multiple different countries, and many more different peoples. To say that because one of those countries has the worlds oldest university they must all not be considered uneducated is just swapping out one misconception for another. Look at the US. We have numerous education systems and institutions, yet still have those that are uneducated.

You list the resources of Africa as a whole, and state we cannot think of Africa as poor. But it is not Africa that controls or trades those resources. It is the individual countries. And as Thomas Sowell has pointed out so well in the past Geography has a larger impact on whether a country is rich or poor than just the resources it has. Actual trade is always a big factor in wealth, education, and civilization of a place. And trade is ruled by how accessible that place is. Europe with it's closer sea ports to the interior and many more navigable rivers to move things back and forth between the interior and sea ports was a major factor in the nations of Europe becoming powerful and wealthy. Africa did not and still doesn't have those advantages.

Other major factors to Africa being generally poor are it's size to fresh water ratio. As a continent you said yourselves that it has only 10% of the worlds fresh water. Yet the continent has 18% of the worlds population and accounts for 20% of the worlds land area. This changes the game dramatically when the basic necessities of life, water, is in short supply and it now becomes expensive to maintain and distribute it. And the countries of Africa are listed as being among the nations with the least affordable water. Worse even than the Middle East as a whole.

So to say that because Africa has resources they cannot be poor is just another misconception.

This whole video sounded to me that you were saying the peoples of Africa have been told lies until they believed them and could just change their mentality to change their outcome. Completely ignoring your own advice that Africa is not a whole, single nation; but a collection of many nations and peoples that are in competition with one another and seriously hindered by circumstance they had no control over.
