Thank you for remembering the American employees affected by this… 😎👍

I'm genuinely bummed by this. Didn't see it coming. I hope someone swoops in and saves the brand at least. Gonna cherish my Rat 3 even more now.

They had a tiger by the tail with the Rat 1 and Rat 2 folders. They were (are) so popular - I felt they had a huge missed opportunity with that knife. With the explosion of the EDC folding knife world, they could've done so much with it - different steels, premium versions, etc. People would've bought them up.

Definitely going to be picking up doubles of my RAT1 and RAT2, plus maybe an SP8.

I havent bought knives in a few years but I'm truly bummed. I bought the Ontario SP-1 and i absolutely LOVE this knife, i use it whenever i deploy (and I'm deployed a lot, even now) and its always on my thigh. Its my favorite tactical knife and I'm so sad to see them close.

The only Ontario knife I have is the m9 bayonet and I love it. My knife addition and getting into good quality knife started with that bad boy and it was with me in a ton of adventures. For that I am forever grateful of OKC

That’s such a shame. I remember when I worked for Busse Combat Knife Co. in Ohio, I felt so lucky because I was working with good, honest guys. The knife industry was full of fly-by-night guys who would go to companies like Ontario and subcontract them to make knives for them, and then never pay. So Ontario would get stuck for the cost of labor, heat treating, and abrasives, etc. Luckily they’d have the tooling and lots of steel so they could make up some of the set up costs by pounding out some of their own versions of the knives they made for other companies. But Ontario was a good company with good designs of their own too. Like you said, they were a good introductory level American-made knife supplier.

Wow that sucks. Love my OKC knives, I had ordered 4 in 2020- 2 SP1s and 2 SP10s, the price at the time was too good to pass up - $27 for each of the SP1s and $45 for the SP10s. Guess I'm keeping these for life now.

Modified the handle on my RAT 7 with a rotary tool. LOVE IT!!!

Oh, my favorite was the Ontario RAT 3. I carried it 12 years of my 30 years in the USCG. Best all around knife I had, great EDC and I actually do everyday carry. I haven’t bought one of those Chinese knives yet because no matter how nice the look I always end up getting another Buck…have over 60 different Buck knives now among many other knives of course 😊

Wow. That sucks. I don't own any modern ontario knives but I really hope they continue the old hickory line which I have 3 of. It's a major part of our American history and would be a real tragedy if they stopped being produced

Been on the fence on whether or not to buy an SP8.... just ordered one after learning about this!

Ordered a marine raider Bowie last night in honor of okc. Sure makes me sad. Long tradition of affordable capable USA blades . Damn shame .

I think the continual success of ESEE tells me it was possible to save. Only recently I becaume interested again in Ontario with the two magnacut fixed blades.

The RAT-7 after customization and touching up fit and finish to fit my hand + fixing the edge ( a nice lil fun project) are by far my favorite knife ever. I really hope that a new company picks em up and makes em in USA😊

I love my Ontario USAF Survival Knife! I keep it in my truck. I’ll have to pick up a RAT 2.

I think the switch from 1095 to 1075 on the larger choppers was a good change. I miss the 5160 SP models. Toughness seemed to matter at OKC. Rat folders are so good that I didn't think this could happen to OKC

My very first fixed blade was Ontario sp 15. It holds dear to my heart cause it was a birthday gift from my brother before he passed away. I rarely ever carry it cause it sits on my wall as my most precious piece.
