I love EVERYTHING Leslie does in general BUT him singing "Wait For It" is where he just SHINES vocally. It's one of my FAVORITE Aaron Burr moments in Hamilton besides "The Room Where It Happens" choreography. Lin made such a good choice in giving Leslie this song, it suits him SO WELL.

Get it? He moves stiff, motions stiff, because hes "waiting for it". He's waiting for his moment, and when it comes towards the end of the show, he is much more open and vibrant. Such an amazing character choice.

I feel bad for Burr because if you pay attention to what he says and who is surrounding him, you see that he is surrounded by his deceased family that wishes Burr to carry on the family’s legacy and Burr does not understand how Hamilton “thrives” with no family with superior roles. Burr is overwhelmed by Hamiltons actions so then he thinks that he is letting down his family, thats why he says “I am inevitable, i am a original.” So Burr’s family constantly whispers “Wait for it…” so Burr stays calm. It really gives you chills when you understand the meaning.

For me, I like how Joshua Henry's version of wait for it a bit more than Leslie's. Leslie Burr's is more reserved, restrained than Joshua's rendition.
