Saw it last night with my son, it is a GREAT movie.  Bruce Dern still has it even after all these years.  It's touching and bittersweet, but also some hilarious conversations and scenes.  I give it two thumbs up!

This film for me, is an example of a perfect film. There's simply nothing wrong with it, everything works, the story, the characters, the directing, but most of all, the acting, mainly from Bruce Dern and Will Forte is some of the best acting I've ever seen. And even June Squibb who doesn't have that much screen time leaves this unforgettable performance and unbelievable impression, that's a friggen good actress! And I am a HUGE Will Forte fan (mainly from Clone High) and I'd wish he'd do more dramatic stuff like this in the future, but until then this is my favorite film of his. This film is dramatic, funny, suspenseful, powerful, and like I said before just all around perfect.

A lot of you guys are so ignorant about the whole black and white thing. It isn't a hipster thing as some of you call it, and it does not bring the movie down at all. This helps with the tone of the movie, it is a sad, dark film, and the black and white helps with it. Also, it's cheaper to make it in black and white. This film is simply a masterpiece in my opinion, one of the best films I've seen, absolutely beautiful. It really pisses me off how ignorant some of these guys are; that being said, this movie is not for everyone. But if you really love films, then I highly recommend this.

I went to this film yesterday with my Dad and we both loved it, it's such a heartwarming tale of family and happens to be hilarious as well! Bravo, if you fancy going to the cinema soon go see it..you really will not regret it (you should also go see The Hobbit)

This is a beautiful and honest film. I cried and laughed watching it. It would've been much better if it wasn't black & white, though. On a side note, I wish people would quit giving negative comments without even actually watching it.

We just watched this GREAT movie here in Northern Japan.  Reminded me of where I am from and the infighting in with families.  Filming in black and white captured the winter scenes perfect.  If you are from the area or driven through this area it was like a flash back.  Never a dull moment during the entire movie and it speaks about life and real peoples lives.

I loved that movie. It's not for everyone though, it is slow paced and not a lot "happens", but it's perfect to tell the story it's telling and everything comes across the way it should. Everything is sort of understated in the best possible way.

Its cool how part of the film was filmed where I live! I easily recognized some places in the film (and in the trailer). We would always see their crew's trailer cars in a local parking lot. Good to see it got a few golden globes.
