Elizabeth Gilbert's 2006 memoir "Eat, Pray, Love" sold millions of copies worldwide and was adapted into a movie of the same name starring Julia Roberts. Gilbert's newest novel, "City of Girls," explores the life of a young woman coming of age in New York City's glamorous, and sometimes scandalous, theater world in the 1940s. Gilbert joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss what she hopes readers feel when they read her new book.

Each weekday morning, "CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, four News & Documentary Emmys, three Daytime Emmys and the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. I recently listened to her narration of Eat Pray Love and I listened to it right before going to bed, now I associate her voice to comfort and relaxation :)

I just received the book and I cannot WAIT to get lost in it. The way Liz writes is brilliant and unparalleled. She finds words for feelings and situations that the rest of us don't have words for. She's a literary Hero....and one day I hope for the opportunity to shake her hand.

I've been a fan since Eat, Pray, Love, and if you are a creative person, like me, you will love her book "Big Magic" I listened to the audio book on a road trip and it's such a confidence booster for all of us artists. Much love Liz.

In eat pray love she says that David was supposedly the love of her life. Here she says it's Rayya ... I am getting somewhat confused ...

I don’t get these comments... CBS this morning does interviews with celebs & authors, so yeah... just like any other news channel... “city of gold diggers”?? I think Liz Gilbert has made plenty of her own money, so?? I’m at a loss. Interesting interview. I’m looking forward to reading it.
