If they add blood pressure or glucose monitoring to the ultra watch I would upgrade in a minute.

Glucose monitoring would change the world. It would make me so incredibly happy to see this. I think we’re still far away from it happening because it needs to be pretty accurate to avoid any potential lawsuits and danger to the person wearing it. Diabetics need the info to be pretty accurate otherwise they can overbolus with insulin and cause their bg to go dangerously low

It’s incredible to think about being able to monitor all of that stuff on a watch. It’s one thing to make a fitness tracking device to count steps and track workouts and stuff, but it’s a whole other ballgame when you get into health monitoring with all those things you listed. Obviously, it’s going to be many years before they can get all of that in an Apple Watch, but the thought is astounding!

Lactate is a biomarker that when elevated can be used to indicate that a patient has sepsis

I have been working on ultrasonic blood pressure sensing, its way difficult. You would have to have a powerful algo and a tight fit to avoid air getting in the way. Glucose would be huge as well

When I first found out I had diabetes I ached for a non-invasive option that didn't need to be replaced every week and wasn't 400$ a month, if this comes out good it will mean so much for so many people.

"measures lactation" lol thats funny right there.
Lactate measurements measure lactic acid. You know, the crap that makes your muscles fatigued...

The device that attaches to your arm has a small needle in it to monitor blood sugar. The watch uses a blinking green LED laser (or possible with a Red and green laser ) because skin is transparent to the colors used. And, just like the old polarized sunglasses block glare, computers and sensors can measure how much the laser is polarized when it goes through blood, to determine how much sugar is in the blood, as well as oxygen. They can have electrodes on the watch for an EKG, but I'm not sure how they do BP?

Miniaturization advances are blowing my mind. Breakthrough Starshot seems ever more viable when I consider what is going on in micro and nano scale technology.

I don’t have an Apple Watch yet because I’m waiting for this glucose monitor.
Better said, I don’t need one but, this I see a value on.

As a Diabetic, glucose monitor will be a game changer, there are non invasive options but they are really expensive, you need a patch that only last 2 weeks and the are not cheap. This is the one feature I am waiting for, is it Apple or Samsung that gets it first I don't care, I will switch to that Watch right away

02:34 "When you are lactating"? lol. I hope that is a joke. Lactate is a very important test run in an ICU for example, as high levels are indicative of possible hypoxia. This is very relevant in today's COVID world.

Wonder how fast there gonna put that feature on a subscription service like some car makers are putting some features that are already on the car on subscription

“When your lactating…” 😂

Willy Doo, they mean lactic acid levels in your blood from workouts.

I don't mind if it's the size on an Iphone as long as I don't have to prick myself TBH. Super excited for this one!
