Do you sometimes mishit your forehand shots?

Clean contact is the key to consistency on all your shots and we find that players struggle with this especially when hitting forehands.

In this video, OTI Instructor James Ludlow explains the 3 stages around contact, and he also shows you how to work on getting these 3 critical stages right!

I also like doing this drill with the topspin pro to see that I am getting the proper topspin on the ball.

I am old school having been taught eastern forehand grip and was always told to make contact with the ball infront of my left foot. I am hearing today that the ball conact is roughly "in line" with my front foot. My old school taught me to be more linier than making contact slightly below the ball to create the top spin. Q: Should I develop better timing on the ball by consentrating different timing or keep the same distance in front as my old style?

Great vid. Although i have say that when i look at a slow mo of federer, the racket face does look slightly angled and closed on impact. Would that not excentuate the top spin? Your response please.

Thank you, so how do you explain the "cover up the ball" saying, that many coaches are teaching when the ball actually passed the contact?
