As an Argentinian I love different timelines where we come as a decent country. Loved the investment you put into it!!

Argentine here: As long as we end up more like Canada and the US than India or South Africa, I'm happy to go along with it.

What if Britain was an Argentine colony

As an Argentine, this doesn`t look so bad, in fact it looks we would be like a 2nd Canada

Edit: Because we would have ethnic tension, like Canada and Quebec in the previous century, so i can see some sort of autonomy to the remanining Hispanic population

Edit 2: If you are going to the comments, Wear a suit ;)

this would affect Brazilian history in crazy ways. No cisplatine war, so the emperor doesn’t abdicate, so there is no regency. Abolishing slavery made the monarchy suffer a coup but with British backing the monarchy would never fall. São Paulo was almost speaking italian before the Second World War, in this timeline with so many Italian immigrants they would probably make it the official language of the state. No republic mean no Getúlio Vargas banning immigrants. So Brazil would just get an even more ridiculous number of immigrants. In the 1940s Brazil was 70% white in this timeline it would be more like 90%. And probably still be around 70% today.

One extra thing to mention, a British Argentina would also likely be given control over Britain's holdings in the South Atlantic, similar to how Australia and New Zealand were given responsibility over most remaining holdings in Oceania.

This would include not just the Falklands, but South Georgia, and what is today the British Antarctic Territory.

What if that certain event that never happened on April 15, 1989 did occur & caused a pro-democracy civil war in the CCP?
