Instead of doing what if everything went perfect for Italy, you did what if everything went perfect for the country with most Italian ancestry outside of Italy, you're an absolute legend.

Edit: guess I was wrong, Brazil and San Marino have more Italians, sorry about that, I didn't know. Still, lots of Argentinians have Italian ancestry.

As an argentine historian I have to say, well done! Despite the oversimplification of politics and some mistakes, it's one of the best vids I've seen a foreigner make.
As for the problem of how a federal system might work, what actually happened irl could be of use: the federal and unitarian parties fought until 1831, when the latter was defeated and their leaders exiled, establishing the confederation and the rosas dictatorship. Over the following 20 years until the defeat of rosas and the first constitution in 1853 both parties morphed and changed; unitarianism as a solution died out, but federalist branches began adopting some centralist principles, you can have a strong federal government while still respecting local autonomous and rights, like Brazil or the US today. That is the solution that eventually won out in the argentine civil wars, a mixture between federal and unitarian ideals.

QUE CHOTA ES UNA MILLA 🇦🇷🇦🇷

Jokes aside, it was a good scenario but I have to correct some minor historical details:

1) Artigas didn't won the civil war, the Liga de los pueblos libres did, more specifically, the governors of Entre Rios and Santa Fe, but there was some infight between them and Artigas because he wanted to them to help him in the war with Brasil, but the others wanted to win the Civil War first.

2) And in a War isn't crazy that Argentina win against Brazil, even in our time line we were close to win the war but some poor generals that didn't take the opportunite to destroy the Brazilians and te blockeade of Bs As made us firm a peace deal. In this time line with a more stronger Argentina I have no doubt that we could win a war

As an argentinian history teacher and historian, I congratulate you. You did a very good job. Any qualms I have are minor. Congrats.

I think that, if the Federals win earlier and keep the Oriental Province (modern Uruguay) the capital would be Arjirópolis, a project to make a new capital in an island in the Río de la Plata to balance competition between Buenos Aires and Montevideo, this didnt happen irl because well, the political and territorial developments went in other directions.

17:22 In fact, the territories disputed between Chile and Argentine comprised the whole southern pink area (not just the Strait of Magellan), and both countries claimed it all until 1881, when a border treaty was signed. A lot of Chileans despise that treaty even today since it was signed while Chile was at war with Peru and Bolivia and Argentina had thought of joining them against Chile (at the start of the war in 1879, before some incredible Chilean victories) and was indeed still thinking of doing so up until when the treaty with Chile was signed, so it is seen kinda as blackmail in Chile today, but in reality back then Chile had no control whatosever over Eastern Patagonia in 1881 and Argentina had begun taking control of its northern part in 1878 already.

The craziest thing is that we are barely 40 million people, in the second largest country of all Latin America, plenty of resources, ample access to the sea, zero natural disasters (no volcanos, no earthquakes, no tsunamis, no tornadoes, no hurrricanes); a perfect piece of land; and yet we manage to live as if we were an overpopulated, sterile sh*thole in the middle of nowhere, fighting for the scraps of a barren soil, where nothing grows and nothing can be done. If you see Argentina from space at night, you will only see lights in Buenos Aires, and barely a handful of others here and there. All this immense territory, rich and fertile, with so few inhabitants per km2, , and NO ONE capable of managing it wisely. It's infuriating.
