Roof Vent Install

In this video I show you how to install a one way breather vent in an existing roof. I always ask the contractor to locate where they would like the vent to eliminate the guess work. Once located I make sure there are no other vents in close proximity.

While going through the steps I try to point out tips and what to watch out for.
Measuring twice is always recommended. If not you run the risk of having to repair shingles that were cut wrong.

This is just what I needed. Some guys did our insulation and didn't hook the hose up to the vent in our bathroom and it caused the roof to leak AND rot. I'm not versed in anything roofing, so I had a guy that was doing some work on a house across the street replace the rotted it still leaks. So I TRIED to fix it, wish I would've watched this FIRST!! NOW I know how to fix it....PHEW!!! What an

All and all great install one thing coming from a pro repair man such as my self is seal the color to the vent with caulking so the moisture doesn’t leak out eventually all that moisture will rot out your roof deck. I repair a ton of these vents because people just sit there vents on top of flange.
